The protests that took place at the end of 2020 was in response to the proposed law "Loi de Sécurité Globale", Global Security Law, also known as article 24, which detailed punishment for photographing and recording police officers; a fine of up to €45,000 and a year in Jail. It also concerned an increase in power of municipal police and an increase in usage and accessibility to live body cameras worn by policemen and drones.
